Move to EdmontonMove to Edmonton. That's what we did. Find out everything you need to know.
Learn about moving to Edmonton - or read on - and discover our personal story about our trek to Edmonton. Big road trip ahead of us. Destination - our new home - Edmonton! What's in-between us and Edmonton? About 43 hours of solid driving. Hopefully our 2 year old and 1 year old will love this adventure.
![]() A picnic on a moving truck may sound incredibly fun and exciting - until you find out that the aluminum floor makes the kids legs, clothes, hands...okay - everything black. So if you're tempted to give it a try - I strongly recommend not doing this!
Move To Edmonton: Day 1Miles Traveled: 794 miles Times We Stopped: 4 times - 2 quickies and 2 half hour stops Hours Traveling: 15 hours
A Twizzler can provide hours of entertainment in a car! Quoatable Quote: our 2 year old as we're driving down the mountains - "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee....we're going down the slide!!!" Rest Stop Fun: We bought an inverter for the trip to power our laptops - it worked wonderfully for the laptops. We got overly optimistic about the inverter's power however and rather than packing our coffee maker in the moving truck, we stowed it away in the car. Sadly, when we tried brewing coffee as we traveled down the interstate - the coffee maker would not brew. We had even gotten Starbucks coffee for the trip! Not to be disappointed, when we stopped to get gas, there was an electrical outlet conveniently located next to a table and bench on the outside of the gas station. My husband set up camp there and brewed coffee, while the kids and I got the wiggles and giggles out of them by running up and down a grassy slope beside the gas station. Coffee - one of the necessities of a successful roadtrip. Yes, we will break cultural norms to get it! Picture of the Day:
Leg room is overrated.
