Muttart ConservatoryThe Muttart Conservatory in Edmonton contains 4 beautifully designed pyramids, featuring plants from around the world.
![]() Description: The Muttart consists of 4 greenhouses, each in the shape of a pyramid. Each greenhouse features plants from different climate zones around the world with one pyramid reserved as the "feature" pyramid with a changing display of plants. Location: 9626 - 96A Street, Edmonton, Alberta T6C 4L8 Overall Rating: 4.5 star Go Again? Yes - but I wouldn't recommend it for families with small children. Although it was beautifully designed and wonderfully executed - it's definitely not the best place for toddlers who just can't handle a quiet, meandering stroll through the beauty. Parking: Unlike a lot of downtown attractions, the Conservatory provides lots of free parking for its visitors.
FeaturesThe Pyramids
![]() Arid Pyramid This pyramid features plants from the arid zones around the world. Arid areas include both hot and cold areas that receive irregular moisture. Prepare yourself to walk through a desert when you stroll through this pyramid. Tropical Pyramid Plants from the tropics can be found in this greenhouse. The air is humid and warm and the plants are bright and cheery. Temperate Pyramid The Temperate Pyramid features plants from the temperate zones around the world. Amazingly, the environment is so regulated that the plants go dormant in the winter and then experience regular spring growth in the spring. Feature Pyramid This pyramid features an ever-changing display of plants. It is changed approximately every 2 months. It usually features plants that highlight the current season.
